We believe that self-awareness is the first step toward sustainable health—both in the body and in the soil. Just like every crop requires the right soil and climate to thrive, each person has a unique natural constitution that governs their health, behavior, and overall vitality.
That’s where Ayurveda comes in—an ancient system of medicine that’s been guiding wellness for over 5,000 years. And at the heart of Ayurveda is a powerful concept called Dosha.
What Are Doshas?
In Ayurveda, there are three primary energy types (or doshas) that make up your physical and emotional makeup:
- Vata – The energy of air and movement. Creative, quick-thinking, but prone to anxiety or dryness.
- Pitta – The energy of fire and transformation. Focused, driven, but may struggle with irritability or overheating.
- Kapha – The energy of earth and water. Calm, grounded, dependable, but can become sluggish or resistant to change
Most people are a mix of two or even all three doshas. Your dominant dosha—known as your Prakriti—helps determine everything from your metabolism and digestion to how you handle stress and make decisions.
Why Should You Know Your Dosha?
Understanding your dosha helps you:
- Eat the foods that best nourish your body.
- Choose routines that balance your energy.
- Recognize when you're out of alignment—and gently bring yourself back.
In short, it’s one of the most empowering tools for holistic health.
